Facile Synthesis of Spatially‐Functionalized Core‐Shell Nanocatalysts with 3‐D Mesopore Structure

Hollow mesoporous silica particles (HMSPs) have recently drawn much attention as nanocatalysts, owing to their benefits and potential for greener chemical processes. Here, improved synthesis of HMSPs exhibiting a shell with 3-D pore structure is proposed overcome previous synthetic issues, such reproducibility, particle size distribution, precise tailoring size/shell thickness, low yield, etc. Additionally, precisely controlled selective functionalization amine groups achieved careful protection sequential extraction protocols. To time-consuming complex multistep procedures, different methods were optimized towards the most efficient protocol. The obtained materials are characterized in terms structure, porosity functions, confined catalytic activity was tested Knoevenagel reaction. nanocatalysts compared before after core template removed confirm that only species free amines located on inner external surface (i. e., exposed hollow core).
